What are the essential, helpful resources you need for starting out as an internet marketer?
One of the biggest problems people face when deciding to start out as an internet marketer is finding a credible source of training and useful tools. There are so many scams within the industry, it’s unbelievable. It’s no wonder so many people fail at marketing online!
Having the proper resources available to help you along the way will be crucial to your success in the online marketing industry. There’s a lot thrown at you, and if you don’t know anything about the world of internet marketing it can be really easy to get sucked into a scam. It’s helpful to realize the difference between things you need and the what to stay clear from.
When starting out, you’re going to need:
- a web domain, preferably one you own
- web hosting
- a good keyword tool (some are much better than others)
- credible training resources–whatever works for you (tutorials, lectures, videos, books, etc.)
- like-minded people in the business who can help you when you get stuck, share experiences with, and network
- a passion for what you’re doing, and a strong desire to succeed
You do have to be careful, however, because there are a lot of BAD tools and scams around the world of internet marketing.
What you DON’T need:
- hiring SEO companies/dirty SEO tricks
- article spinning
- unnatural link-building techniques
- get rich quick schemes
Bad SEO will lead Google to de-rank and possibly de-index your site completely. That is BAD. If you aren’t in Google, you’re missing out on a huge chunk of traffic. YOU are your #1 SEO resource. Don’t fall for the hype of SEO companies. Don’t fall for get rich quick schemes, either. Your hard work will make you rich, with time!
Fact: Most people who start out in internet marketing will fail.
There are several reasons for failure–as with anything that takes work, you have to be devoted to the task.
People fall victim to scams in this industry all the time, which inevitably will not lead to their success. They go in with the wrong impression. They think it’ll be easy, and take little to no effort. They are lead to believe it will make them earn 10,000 dollars or more in their first month, (or possibly more) and when they don’t see that type of success they give up.
The fact is, you have to put in hard work. Accept the fact you may not make any money your first week, or month, or first few months. Going in with the proper mindset will help you not to get discouraged.
Don’t underestimate the importance of asking for help. A lot of times, people will fail because they get stuck at some point along the way, get discouraged, frustrated and give up! Having people by your side, supporting you along the way, can have a huge impact on whether you decide to continue in your online journey. I know I would have given up a LONG time ago if I didn’t have the help I had available to me!
Succeeding is definitely possible when you have the right resources!
